A very unusual rosewood pen tray with brass boulle work c1860. The sides slope inwards towards the centre section which has two inkwells and a lidded oddments section, probably for stamps. The edges have brass banding all round The underside is veneered in ebony with four square feet the centre section of the underside is covered in black leather.
This is a beautifully made object which exudes quality and craftsmanship.
