Walnut Sewing box C: 1860. A CharmingWalnut sewing box with Tunbridge inlays to both the front and top. The top has curved edges all round and in the centre a triangular design consisting of mother of pearl tulip wood and box wood inlays. The working lock has an escutcheon that mirrors the triangular design in the top without the mother of pearl edging. Inside the top is a rouched satin cover which drops down and where papers/letters can be kept. The inner tray is paper lined and with red satin lids to the compartments. Beneath the tray the box is paper lined.
