Rosewood Jewellery BoxC:1880. A charming rosewood sarcophagus shaped jewellery box with mother of pearl inlay. The plateau on the top of the lid is edged with a quarter round moulding as is the edge of the lid and the base of the box. The mother of pearl inlay has a theme of floral patterns with foliage. At the side there are wooden hooped carrying handles and the piece stands on four bun feet. The inside is lined with red velvet and paper.
